5 things to look for when choosing a floor care company in Cambridge

Floor care comes in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. We could be talking about carpet cleaning, wood sanding, patio cleaning and stone cleaning.

No matter what material you have in mind that needs a spring clean or just a general spruce up, I think there are 5 key points that you should look out for when hiring a professional in to your home to carry out such work.

* 1ST on the list is GUARANTEE: does your chosen company come with a guarantee? Most importantly, what is it?
It is crucial that you know exactly what you’re getting and how they can deliver the guarantee. You have to ask yourself and your professional, what if you are not satisfied with the work that has been carried out? What will they do to rectify the problem? Even more so, what if you’re still not satisfied even after they have tried to fix any issues you may have.

In some cases the guarantee is that they will try and fix the problem, if you’re still not happy then it’s tough. You need to find someone that has a guarantee that suits you. I would suggest one that offers satisfaction or your money back. The worst feeling is being unhappy with a service you have received and not be able to recoup your funds. Either way, you do not want to be out of pocket because you will inevitably have to pay someone to do the job correctly.

We should take a moment to remember that cheapest isn’t necessarily the best.

* 2ND I would like to touch on EDUCATION: it is always a good idea to familiarise yourself with IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification). The IICRC is our industries most recognised body for certification.
what education your chosen floor care professional should have. What governing bodies are in charge of making sure all education is above board and certificated. For instance you can find a registered company with the

You can also find members of the National carpet cleaners association HERE

* 3RD I feel it would be wise to look in to how much EXPERIENCE they have in their field of expertise. How long has the company been in business? How long have their employees worked for them? Just to be aware that some companies use sub contractors that may not have the same experience and education as the company advertises, always best to ask, just to be on the safe side, if they have nothing to hide then they won’t mind the question.

* 4TH is a slight follow on from experience by looking at REPUTATION, if your chosen company has lots of experience in their field then they should also have a fantastic reputation. It is all well and good to have a company that has been trading for many years, as long as the reputation they have is a good one.
You can always ask around for referrals, there is nothing better than hearing what previous clients have to say about the service they received. You can start with friends and family if they are local to you, you know they will always be honest with you about companies they have used before.

Reputable flooring and furnishing companies can be good if you are looking for wood sanding in Cambridge, upholstery cleaning, high end vinyl cleaning, stone, tile, patio, block paving and also rugs cleaning. The more you research the better equipped you will be to make an informed decision on who you will trust to look after your home and its contents. * 5TH and last but by no means least the SYSTEMS AND MACHINES, the machinery that your professional uses is incredibly important. It would be a great move by yourself to have at least a little bit of an understanding of what systems and techniques will be used in your home. It goes hand in hand with the previous 4 points, the biggest and best machines are only the best if they are used by trained professionals and regularly maintained. If they aren’t then you could find the machinery breaking down and letting you down on the day of the job, or if they aren’t fully trained then the clean won’t be as thorough or extensive as what you would expect from a professional clean.
